About

After growing up in New York City, I was drawn to the American West in my early twenties, where I discovered the Big Sky and the vast landscapes of Montana and Wyoming. These inspired my early works and continue to be a motif in my paintings today.
Over the years I have continued to draw inspiration from the beauty in nature, including the Adirondack mountains in upstate New York where my wife, Judy, and I raised our family for 11 years, and more recently the woods, fields, and streams in Connecticut’s Farmington Valley, where we reside today with our dog Veronika. Using both brush and palette knife techniques, my acrylic-on-canvas compositions attempt to evoke the energies of the natural world with their rich variety of colors and textures.
